The Cardigans announce new album details
The band also reveal their need for some ‘Fine Wine'
The Cardigans have announced details of their sixth studio album.
The band will release ‘Super Extra Gravity’ on October 17, which sees producer Tore Johannson return behind the mixing desk following his absence from the group’s last LP – 2003’s ‘Long Gone Before Daylight’.
Singer Nina Persson said: “We ‘fired’ him during the recording of the last album because we felt that he was pushing us towards an approach we attempted to leave. He still doesn’t particularly like ‘Long Gone…’. He has a whole different aesthetic. But for this album we came crawling back!”
Tracks set to appear on ‘Super Extra Gravity’ include opener ‘Losing a Friend’, ‘In The Round’, ‘Good Morning Joan’, ‘Don’t Blame Your Daughter (Diamonds)’ and ‘Godspell’.
The album will be preceded by the single ‘I Need Some Fine Wine And You, You Need To Be Nicer’ on October 3.
A limited edition of ‘Super Extra Gravity’ will also be available with a DVD featuring an hour long band documentary and demos.
A full UK tour for the beginning of 2006 is being planned.
