Carl Barat announces second solo gig

Former Libertine to play two gigs in Wakefield

Former Libertines and Dirty Pretty Things man Carl Barat has announced that he will play a second live date at the Wakefield Escobar next month.

Barat's first performance will now be on March 6, after the previously-announced March 7 date sold out.

Barat recently played a slew of support slots in the USA for Glasvegas. Although he played a secret gig at Glastonbury last summer, the Wakefield dates will mark his first headline solo shows in the UK.

Come on! My greatest wish is to see them together again as well but Pete is just not feeling so well in order to perform like good old days. and carl knows that and instead of sacrificing a friendship and risking a bad gig he simply refuses. for now. that doesn't mean it won't happen in the future. I am sure he will be great solo too even though he best belongs in a band! Go Carl!

its gonna be weak...DPT's are weak and he can't carry a solo gig... The Libertines worked because there was Carl and Pete bouncing off each other, taking lines each of the songs it worked... carl on his own is like the "straight guy" doing a stand up comedy show on his own...

I like both bands I like babyshambles a little more and as far as solo gigs who cares. You are still thinking about the libertines something that is not around anymore. Carl's not a tool because he won't reform for money! It may be weak but I doubt it people underestimate Carl and what he brought to The libertines. Babyshambles I like them as well but pete sounds like a little kid sometimes going off into lala land. Anyway I like both bands and will proably like the solo's a bit.
