Tribes and Carl Barât to play NME Showcases in partnership with H&M
Both acts set to appear in branches of H&M later this year
Tribes and Carl Barat will both be taking part in exclusive instore performances for NME and H&M later this year.
Both acts will perform live instores with Tribes up first, playing live in the Market Street branch of the store in Manchester on April 18. Speaking to NME about their gig, Johnny Lloyd of the band said: "It's a chance to get close and meet the fans and our fans can be pretty intense so this is going to be great. We'll be playing about five or six new songs from the album, songs like 'How The Other Half Live' and 'Dancehall' and we might play 'Wrapped Up In A Carpet' as well."
Meanwhile, former Libertines and Dirty Pretty Things frontman Carl Barât will play songs from his forthcoming solo album when he performs at the Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow on May 8. Chatting from his recording studio in Bridlington, east Yorkshire, Barat revealed that he has recently falling back in love with playing his guitar and is writing lots of riffs for his new songs. "I fell out with the guitar a bit when I made my first solo album but I'm back into it now and have been making lots of big noises with amplifiers recently. The album is about 80 per cent complete and I'm hoping to have it out in October so Glasgow should be a good chance to show fans my new stuff."
Tickets for both of the NME Showcases are free. A third showcase featuring mystery guests will be taking place in June at H&M's flagship store on London's Regent Street. For your chance to gain entry to the exclusive H&M instores, visit NME.com/showcases now.
