Brighton folk festival to raise money for Amnesty International
'A Midwinter Picnic' takes place this Sunday
An all-day festival in Brighton this Sunday (January 11) is set to raise money for Amnesty International.
'A Midwinter Picnic', which takes place at the West Hill Hall, is curated by Brighton-based singer Chris T-T.
Although more acts are set to be announced for the event, the confirmed artists so far are:
Spiers And Boden
Jim Bob (Carter USM frontman)
Emily Barker
The Red Clay Halo
Tom Williams
Brendon Cleary
Timothy Victor's Folk Orchestra
Speaking of Amnesty International, organiser Chris T-T said: "Amnesty's work is more relevant than ever, with our freedoms eroded daily and ID cards round the corner. The evil of torture has gained a foothold in supposedly civilised countries and we need to kick it out. As well as raising money, something like A Midwinter Picnic can remind people there are things they can do, letters they can write, which will make a real difference."
