Cee Lo Green has been cast as Wu Tang Clan rapper Raekwon's father in a new biopic of the rapper.

The rapper has been putting together the biopic, which is based around his early life in Staten Island, New York and told XXL Magazine that he has almost finished the script and has cast around 60% of the roles.

Raekwon said of Green's casting:

Cee Lo Green is playing my pops in the film. Cee Lo is going to play Raekwon's old dad! He's a good friend of mine. When I called him and told him about it he was just overwhelmed. He's just one of the greats that are going to be on the project.

The film, which is titled C.R.E.A.M. after the 1993 Wu Tang Clan single, does not have a start date for filming or a confirmed studio, but Raekwon has said "it will definitely be in theaters".

Cee Lo Green is currently nearing the end of his world tour, with just two festivals in New York and Maryland left to play.
