Cee Lo Green claims Andre 3000's long awaited solo album has failed to materialise because the rapper is suffering with a "severe case of stage fright".

Despite collaborating with several artists including Drake, Beyonce and Frank Ocean, the rapper has failed to release any new material of his own since Outkast's 2006 LP 'Idlewild'. Earlier this week a representative for the rapper denied rumours that he will release his long-awaited debut solo album in 2014.

Now Green has shed further light on the situation. He told MTV Rap Fix Live show: "He just said he had a severe case of stage fright and he's just kind of been away from the game and didn't know if he could truly live up (to his reputation). He just said he was bothered by this bar that had been set and maybe he wants to do something different, and he'll always be his worst competition, his worst critic and maybe he don't want to live up to what people think he should do."

Although no music material is likely to be forthcoming, Andre 3000 is currently working on a Jimi Hendrix biopic All Is By My Side which he will play the lead role in. The film is due to premiere in September at the Toronto Film Festival.
