Cee Lo Green has denied spiking a women's drink with ecstasy in LA.

The singer is accused of secretly slipping the drug into the drink of his dinner date at a sushi restaurant in July 2012.

As the BBC report, he first appeared in court last October on the charge of furnishing a controlled substance, the maximum sentence for which is four years in jail. An earlier rape charge relating to the same alleged incident was dropped due to insufficient evidence.

Cee Lo Green, real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, told reporters outside Los Angeles Superior Court: "I'm a fan of good, clean living."

The judge scheduled another hearing for March, when a preliminary hearing date will be set.

Green has hired lawyer Blair Berk, whose previous celebrity clients include Lindsay Lohan and Gerard Butler.

The singer is currently a judge on the US TV version of The Voice. He started his career in the 1990s with hip-hop group Goodie Mob. He then launched himself as a solo artist before joining Gnarls Barkley with Danger Mouse. The duo gained worldwide success with their hit 'Crazy'.
