The US hip-hop star was expected to perform at the second weekend of the California event but a statement released on the day of his scheduled performance revealed that he was currently recovering in hospital and would be unable to play live.

The statement from Chance The Rapper's management read: "On behalf of Chance and our entire team, we sincerely regret to have to cancel our 2nd weekend at Coachella. Chance fell ill on Friday night & was admitted to the hospital today - Doctors and family are with him & he is expected to make a full recovery.
