Chance The Rapper made his debut on Saturday Night Live last night (Dec 12).

The Chicagoan MC performed 'Sunday Candy', a track from 'Surf', his collaboration with Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment – who also appeared – and premiered a new song, 'Somewhere in Paradise'.

Chance sported a baseball cap that represents his hometown team, the Chicago White Sox, and a customised Social Experiment jacket that the whole band were wearing.

He kicked off 'Sunday Candy' by jingling some festive bells and wishing everyone "happy holidays". Then later in the song he the referenced the case surrounding Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke, who was charged with first-degree murder last month following the death of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald, whom he shot 16 times, in October 2014. "I've been waiting all week. I've been waiting all night. Jason Van Dyke," Chance rapped.

The 22-year-old rapper also premiered a new track, 'Somewhere in Paradise' featuring Jeremih, which Chance uploaded for free download immediately after the show. Listen below.

'Somewhere in Paradise' is the second new solo release from the artist this year. 'Surf', the jazz fusion album that Chance collaborated on with Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment, was released in May. In August he posted 'Free (Based Freestyles Mixtape)', a joint mixtape with Lil B, as well as the song 'Israel (Sparring)' featuring Noname Gypsy.
