Cheryl Cole is lining up a chat show for the BBC, according to reports.

The Mirror claims that the Girls Aloud star wants to get her television career back on track after she left the UK version of The X Factor and was subsequently fired from a role on its American counterpart. Her manager, Black Eyed Peas' man Will.I.Am, is said to be in negotiations with the broadcaster to secure her a new programme.

A source said:

It's all been tremendously exciting after Will pitched this idea and things have been moving at a rate of knots. They are looking at a show in the summer which would be the ideal vehicle to relaunch Cheryl's TV career.

The reports also suggests that guests such as Rihanna and Justin Bieber are already being sounded out about appearing on the show, and that Cole could sign a deal worth £750,000 per series.

Cole is currently working on her new and as-yet-untitled studio LP, which will be the follow-up to her 2010 album 'Messy Little Raindrops'. The singer, who is expected to release the record's first single in March, is said to be chasing collaborations with hip-hop stars Eminem and Nicki Minaj so the album can have a "more urban vibe" and also wants to use a track written by 'Video Games' songstress Lana Del Rey.
