Chris Brown issues statement about alleged Rihanna attack
Singer says he is seeking counselling of loved ones
Chris Brown has issued a statement about the much-publicised incident involving Rihanna early last Sunday morning (February 8).
In a statement issued via his publicist Michael Sitrick, Brown says:
"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."
Brown, who has been accused of choking and biting Rihanna during an argument in Los Angeles, also says that "much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and-or reported in the media is wrong".
The singer was arrested for investigation of making a criminal threat after turning himself in to police on the evening of February 8.
Rihanna is currently at home in Barbados. Her father has commented on her condition, and confirmed there is bruising.
