Chris Brown charged with two felonies

He faces up to eight years in prison

Chris Brown has been charged with two felonies as a result of an alleged attack on his girlfriend Rihanna last month.

The complaint was handed down in court in Los Angeles this morning (March 5), and identifies Rihanna by the name Robyn F. Her full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty.

Brown is due to be arraigned this afternoon on the charges, which are listed as assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats.

If he is convicted he faces up to eight years in prison, district attorney's spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons told the Associated Press.

Brown allegedly attacked Rihanna in a car in Los Angeles last month as they left Clive DavisPre Grammy party. Photos of her with a bruised and bleeding face subsequently appeared on the Internet.

Brown issued a statement saying he was sorry for "what transpired", while Rihanna refused to comment at the request of investigators.

The pair are reportedly back together.

Though it is none of my business i have to say that it is very typical for abused people to remain in violent relationships, i hope that mr Brown gets banged up as there is never an excuse to beat women up, full stop. You cease to be a man the second you hit a woman or a child, old fashioned perhaps, but thats how it is.

well said, hness, whatever people think of their music is irrelevant here. Anyone who engages in domestic violence is a sick, sick person.
