Chris Brown charged with two felonies
He faces up to eight years in prison
Chris Brown has been charged with two felonies as a result of an alleged attack on his girlfriend Rihanna last month.
The complaint was handed down in court in Los Angeles this morning (March 5), and identifies Rihanna by the name Robyn F. Her full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty.
Brown is due to be arraigned this afternoon on the charges, which are listed as assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats.
If he is convicted he faces up to eight years in prison, district attorney's spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons told the Associated Press.
Brown allegedly attacked Rihanna in a car in Los Angeles last month as they left Clive Davis’ Pre Grammy party. Photos of her with a bruised and bleeding face subsequently appeared on the Internet.
Brown issued a statement saying he was sorry for "what transpired", while Rihanna refused to comment at the request of investigators.
The pair are reportedly back together.
