Chris Brown took the Number One spot in the Official Album Chart yesterday (July 8) with his new album 'Fortune'.

The singer, who released the album a week ago (July 2), knocked Linkin Park from the summit, pushing the nu-metallers fifth album 'Living Things' down to Number Three, with Maroon 5 sandwiched inbetween at Number Two with their new LP 'Overexposed', reports the Official Charts Company.

Elsewhere in the Top 10 there was very little change, with Ed Sheeran at Four, Emeli Sande at Five, Paul Simon at Number Six and Kanye West and Jay-Z, Rihanna, Coldplay and Adele making up the rest of the Top 10.

The Stone Roses re-entered the UK Top 20 after their triumphant Heaton Park shows, with their compilation 'The Very Best Of The Stone Roses' taking the Number 20 spot. Their self-titled debut also shot up the charts, rising to Number 42.

In the singles chart, Maroon 5 denied Chris Brown a chart double and returned to the top of the chart with 'Payphone', with Brown at Number Two and at Number Three with 'This Is Love'.

The rest of the Top 10 was largely unchanged, with Rihanna/Coldplay, Katy Perry, Cheryl, Rudimental, Fun, Stooshe and Florida taking up the other places in the countdown.
