Irish singer dies of asbestosis
Christie Hennessey has passed away
Irish singer Christie Hennessey died of asbestosis this morning (December 12) in London, aged 62.
Hennessey’s illness was likely the result of him working on building sites in London when he was a young man.
The star released his debut album in 1972, and achieved his greatest success with his 1992 album, ‘The Rehearsal’.
A statement to fans on Hennessey’s website read: “We just want you all to know how much that Christie appreciated your love and support over the years. He will be sadly missed by all.”
