Camp Bestival: 'Everyone is trying to borrow Chuck Berry's amps'

Camp Bestival organiser Rob da Bank has revealed bands playing this week are trying to get their hands on Chuck Berry's amplifiers.

The rhythm and blues veteran is headlining this weekend's event (July 18-20), and acts playing the event have been asking to borrow his vintage equipment.

Writing in his exclusive Camp Bestival Blog for NME.COM, Bank explained:

"On the musical front our stage managers and production team are dealing with the usual last minute requests for equipment, many asking to borrow Chuck Berry's amplifiers, which are strictly off limits to anyone aside from the mighty rock 'n' roller."

Da Bank added that one of their other headliners was also posing the production team a few questions.

"We still haven’t figured out how to hang the amazing LED screen that The Flaming Lips are using during their performance - complete with lasers shooting through the stage onto the crowd," he explained. "Can't wait to see it!"

Follow all the weekend's action in Rob da Bank's Camp Bestival blog on NME.COM.
