Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have declared they will not be heading into the studio in the immediate future, though their manager has refuted suggestions the group are splitting.
Although he stopped short of confirming they were definitely breaking up, Nick Stern from the band's management said the Brooklyn-based five-piece are unlikely to work together in the immediate future.
"It's true that Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have decided not to go back into the studio at this time while the guys work on other projects," Stern told NME.COM.
He added though this was not necessarily the end of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, saying that internet reports suggesting the group were splitting was "probably reading a bit too much into things".
The band currently have one scheduled gig which takes place on February 13 at New York's BAM. The band's last album, 'Some Loud Thunder', was released in January 2007.
Bassist Tyler Sargent and keyboardist Robbie Guertin recently formed a side-project called Uninhabitable Mansions.
