The QUEEN could open up the grounds of BUCKINGHAM PALACE in LONDON for a series of free concerts to celebrate her Golden Jubilee in 2002.
According to the BBC, the plans have been disclosed by the Home Office, and are set to reflect the best popular music in the 50 years since the Queen's accession. A public holiday on June 4 will mark the exact date, although celebrations will start in May and finish in August.
No acts have been confirmed for the shows, although the BBC suggests Sir Cliff Richard, Cilla Black, Dame Shirley Bassey, and, possibly, the three surviving Beatles may be in line to appear.
Other Royal residencies across the country may also open for similar events.
