Noel provides football chant on new [a]Cornershop[/a] project...

Noel Gallagher will sing a football chant on the new album by Cornershop offshoot Clinton.

Tjinder Singh and Ben Ayres hope to have the album out by March and they will precede it with a single, 'Button Down Disco'.

Ayres said: "Some of the people who have previously played with Cornershop will be guesting on it and Noel Gallagher should be doing a track as well.

"He's doing vocals. It's going to be a football chant that's going to get used everywhere."

Noel is yet to record his contribution, but promised to join them in the studio when Cornershop supported Oasis in the US last year. The Oasis songwriter has been a friend of the band for some time and has joined the band onstage on a number of occasions to play bass on 'Jullander Shere' from their 1997 album 'When I Was Born For The 7th Time'.

The Clinton album is a collection of songs written on the tourbus over the past couple of years and is being produced by Tjinder Singh. Clinton are currently negotiating with various labels for a deal.

The last Clinton release was 'Superloose - The Automator Remixes' in Autumn 1996.
