The Young Knives rock Club NME LA
The trio perform their first-ever Los Angeles show
The Young Knives arrived from London just in the nick of time to headline Club NME Los Angeles with Fred Perry last night (March 7).
The Oxfordshire trio had to cancel a string of US dates because of visa complications --'They held them up for no apparent reason!' singer-guitarist Henry Dartnall told NME.COM-- but they were able to make it just before the start of their first Los Angeles gig.
"This is our 24th hour without sleep," bassist House of Lords told the crowd.
"Sleep is for losers!" chimed in Dartnall.
Despite their lack of sleep, the trio ran through an energetic set including 'Dialing, Darling', 'Coastguard' and 'Weekend and Bleak Days'.
Dressed in button-down shirts and ties, the lads looked like misfit school boys playing their aggressive brand of pop-punk-rock with impressive two-part harmonies.
As previously announced, The Young Knives have scheduled eight additional US dates, including an appearance at Austin's South by Southwest Festival next week.
Club NME with Fred Perry takes place at Spaceland in the Silver Lake neighbourhood of Los Angeles every Wednesday night.
Next Wednesday (March 14), Brighton trio Fujiya & Miyagi are set to headline Club NME LA with Fred Perry.
