T.I. released on bail

The rapper remains under house arrest

T.I. released on bail

T.I. was released on $3 million bond today (October 26), but must remain in home confinement until his forthcoming trial on weapons charges.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, was sentenced to house arrest by US Magistrate Judge Alan Baverman, where he will be monitored 24 hours a day by a monitoring service he must pay for, reports the Associated Press.

He must remain at his home in Atlanta, Georgia, at all times, with the exception of medical appointments and court appearances. He's also forbidden to own any firearms or contact witnesses or informants in the case.

T.I. was arrested in Atlanta on October 13 by federal agents from the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as previously reported.

The arrest came as a result of an investigation that began earlier in the month in which T.I.'s bodyguard was allegedly purchasing machine guns for the rapper, who is a convicted felon, and therefore unable to legally purchase them himself.
