Tiny Masters Of Today battle broken nose to play NME party

Duo kick off first of three shows at CMJ

Brooklyn duo Tiny Masters Of Today kicked off the first of three CMJ shows last night at the NME.COM Welcome To CMJ Party at Annex in New York.

Joined as usual by Jon Spencer Blues Explosion drummer Russell Simins, the duo made their way through a ten song set including covers of The Moldy Peaches' ‘Lucky Number Nine’ and House Of Pain’s ‘Jump Around’.

The duo tore through their set despite 13 year-old singer and guitarist Ivan suffering a broken nose after school on Monday (October 15), while his 11 year-old bassist sister Ada was exhausted, not from late night gigging, but from being made to run a mile by her gym teacher yesterday (October 16).

The band continue their CMJ run tomorrow at Bowery Ballroom where they will play alongside 1990s and British Sea Power.

They will also perform this Saturday at the Brooklyn Vegan party with Foals and The Maccabees.

The band will head to France in December to perform at the Transmusicale festival alongside Kate Nash and Simian Mobile Disco.
