Interpol make live return at Coachella Festival

The suits are out again as band preview third album

Interpol treated fans to several new songs this evening (April 27) at their first performance in over a year at the Coachella Festival.

Taking to the main stage directly after The Jesus And Mary Chain, the band were welcomed with much applause and launched into a typically visual sight and sound performance.

Playing for possibly the biggest crowd of the day, including bands Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons and The Rapture who all watched on, the New Yorkers were clearly delighted to be back in the live arena.

Wearing trademark black suits amid much atmospheric red and green lighting, the band maintained their cool despite the sweltering conditions and thrilled the audience with tracks from ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’ and 'Antics', along with a couple of tracks from their new album ‘Our Love To Admire’ which is set for release at the beginning of July.

The crowd remained attentive throughout the entire set, but reserved their biggest cheers for best known tracks ‘Obstacle 1’ and ‘Slow Hands’.
