LCD Soundsystem hit Coachella
James Murphy talks to NME.COM ahead of festival slot
LCD Soundsystem drew one of the biggest crowds of the evening (April 28) at the Sahara tent at the Coachella Festival.
Even before the band took to the stage, the tent was stuffed to capacity with much of the crowd spilling out into the grounds outside.
Speaking to NME.COM ahead of their performance , James Murphy shared his secret for surviving the desert heat.
“The heat is fucked up” he declared at a Motorola-hosted party. “I'm drinking a lot of water and trying not to exercise.”
Although admitting he just completed a new B-side track, Murphy explained that touring had put the brakes on him writing any new material.
“I don't use a laptop, I play instruments. I don't really have a studio," he said. "I don't work on stuff till I get home, I just work on stuff in my head.”
Murphy will head to Los Angeles tomorrow night for a DJ set at the Standard hotel before touring for a month around the US.
