TWIN SET

The indie darlings are the subject of an 18-track retrospective...

TWIN SET

Cocteau Twins are set to release a best of album, 'STARS AND TOPSOILS, A COLLECTION (1982-1990)', during October.

The 18-track CD, released on October 16 through 4AD, spans the sometime trio's eight years with the influential label.

Throughout the decade Cocteau Twins' unique sound - a mixture of Liz Fraser's fragile, almost unintelligible vocals, Robin Guthrie's delicate guitar and Simon Raymonde's deep bass - came to characterise what was known as "the 4AD sound".

Following six albums and seven EPs, Cocteau Twins left 4AD at the turn of the decade and moved to Fontana where they recorded a further two albums before splitting.

The tracklisting for 'Stars And Topsoils, A Collection (1982-1990)' is as follows: 'Blind Dumb Deaf' 'Sugar Hiccup' 'My Love Paramour' 'Pearly-Dewdrops' Drops' 'Lorelei' 'Pandora' 'Aikea-Guinea' 'Pink Orange Red' 'Pale Clouded White' 'Lazy Calm' 'The Thinner the Air' 'Orange Appled' 'Cico Bluff' 'Carolyn's Fingers' 'Fifty-Fifty Clown' 'Iceblink Luck' 'Heaven Or Las Vegas' 'Watchlar'
