COLDPLAY vocalist CHRIS MARTIN performed a one-off gig by LONDON's TRAFALGAR SQUARE this afternoon (April 11).

The performance on a 36 foot stage in front of Nelson's Column came as part of an event to raise awareness of Oxfam's new campaign to 'Make Trade Fair'.

Martin performed one song, a cover of Jimmy Cliff's 'Many Rivers To Cross'. Speaking informally to NME.COM before his appearance, Martin said that he chose the cover because he was bored of playing material from his band's debut 'Parachutes' and the song was "beautiful".

The three-year campaign is calling on millions of supporters worldwide to add their voice to the call for a radical shake up of global trade rules to make trade fair. For more information, click here.
