Coldplay pay tribute to Johnny Cash on North American tour

The band have taken to covering one of the legendary singer's classics...

COLDPLAY have been playing tribute to Johnny Cash on the North American leg of their TWISTED LOGIC world tour.


The band have added the legend’s classic ‘Ring Of Fire’ to the acoustic section of their show alongside the set regulars ’Don’t Panic’ and ’’Til Kingdom Come’, which was written for [a][/a] but never recorded by him before his death in 2003.


Coldplay have performed the song at their last three shows – at Indianapolis Verizon Wireless Music Center, East Troy Alpine Valley Music Theatre and Seattle White River Amphitheater.


As previously reported on NME.COM, Coldplay have announced a massive European tour for the autumn.


The group, who release their new single ’Fix You’ on September 5, will play across mainland Europe in October and November.


Dates have been confirmed in countries including Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. Currently there are no UK dates confirmed, although NME.COM understands the band will be back for shows before the end of the year.
