Coldplay’s Chris Martin has recovered from an illness that had forced his band to cancel a several shows on their American tour.
The band pulled gigs in Tampa, on September 14 and in Birmingham , Alabama on September 16, but Martin has been cleared to sing again tonight (September 17) at Bank Pavilion in St Louis .
The singer had been suffering from a throat illness, however drummer Will Champion has reassured fans with tickets to the cancelled shows that the band will make up for those dates.
“Chris is suffering from some issues with his throat and it was felt by his doctor that if he didn’t give his voice a rest he might not be able to sing for the rest of the US dates,” Champion wrote on Coldplay.com “Please be assured that we are planning on returning to the US in the spring of 2006 and when we do we will definitely reschedule both these shows.”
Meanwhile it has been revealed that Coldplay plan to donate the profits from US downloads of current single ‘Fix You’ to charities supporting victims of Hurricane Katrina .
