The super-producer will help out on their fourth album

Timbaland has revealed that he is to work with Coldplay on their fourth album.

The super-producer revealed that he is coming to the UK in April to meet with the band, whom he is known to be a big fan of.

Speaking about his production method of not having a preconceived idea of what the sound will be, Timbaland told the US edition of GQ: “I try to get into their heads, see what they're thinking about. I just try to figure out how they are feeling.

"And if they are feeling a certain way, I go by that. It’s more about everyday life - then it (should) be about music.”

However, as previously reported the band have confirmed that Brian Eno is producing the follow-up to 2005's 'X&Y' at their own purpose-built studio in north London.

Following Timbaland's interest, a spokesperson for the band told NME.COM that while the group are fans of of the producer they are not currently scheduled to work with him.
