Chris Martin and co are officially a bedtime hit

Coldplay have topped a poll to find the band most people want to fall asleep to.

The four-piece finished ahead of James Blunt, Snow Patrol, Take That and Norah Jones in a survey carried out by Travelodge.

"The research shows that we are increasingly relying on slow, sleepy music and unchallenging books to take our minds off the pressures of modern living, to help us switch off and get to sleep at night", said Travelodge spokesperson Leigh McCarron.

"Coldplay seem to hit just the right spot among Britain's insomniacs."

The study into the bedtime rituals polled 2,248 people across the UK.

if coldplay are officially a bedtime hit does it mean i have every right to call them boring without being punched by some coldplay fan? or i have to wait until they're named bedtime shit to ensure i stay unhurt?

Was that so funny you had to post it three times?Personally I love Coldplay. At a time when Britain is producing largely terrible indie/rock music, it's terrific that Coldplay are having worldwide success, even if they're too 'boring' for some.

Don't worry, if a Coldplay fan punches you it won't be that painful!
