Coldplay have released the official tracklisting for their new album.

Posted from Taormina in Scilly, the names of the ten tracks which will feature on 'Viva La Vida' have appeared on Coldplay.com.

The full tracklisting is:

'Life In Technicolor'
'Cemeteries Of London'
'Lost!'
'42'
'Lovers In Japan/Reign Of Love'
'Yes'
'Viva La Vida'

As previously reported, Coldplay's fourth album is set to be released on June 16 and is named after a painting by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.

The band hinted at a single release before then but gave away no track names or dates.

They also implied they may be playing live soon, with a statement on the site declaring: "Depending on where you live we'll try a track or two before then (June 16)."

The world's most boring, over-rated and irrelevant band unleash their next masterpiece upon us grateful minions. The day Chris Martin listen to a Radiohead album was the day music died.

X&Y was a cracking album from start to finish. I have every confidence in Chris Martin and the lads that this one will be just good, roll on the first single.

last album was rubbish, this will be equally as bad but i estimate sales of 10 million

Apr 11, 2008

Three good albums so far; no reason to suggest that this will be any different. At a time when Britain is producing a lot of sh*te indie/rock, at least these guys are continuing to fly the flag.Album title still reminds me of that Ricky Martin song though.

RuiRuiRuiRui what are you talking about coldplay epitimise "sh*te indie rock" they are absolute toilet

Markm

Apr 11, 2008

Agree with RuiRuiRuiRui, there's so much sh*te indie rock, that could be the same band. Wombats, Pigeon Detectives and so forth, nothing original. The Enemy note for note are the Jam. At least Coldplay is vaguely orginal and sonically superior in terms of the depth of the music. And their abilities on guitar shame these so called new indie bands

mozafan

Apr 11, 2008

RuiRuiRuiRui I'm afraid they are the blandest band ever, up there with the likes of Travis. I'd rather listen to cats having sex to the sound of Enya

RuiRuiRuiRui

Apr 11, 2008

They're a damn sight better than these crap bands I've had to put up with on "indie" websites / stations / channel in the past year - The Enemy, Jack Penate, Hoosiers, Scouting for f*cking Girls - now THAT is sh*te indie rock. It's disappointing that Coldplay are slated for being 'boring' merely because some people have the attention span of a goldfish. Three albums so far, three 9/10 reviews by NME (who are generally accused of going off a band once they've become big), not many bands who can say that.

A simple caveat to my comment - RuiRuiRuiRui if you are under 10 then I respect your views otherwise no excuse mate no excuse!!!!

All those who enjoy Coldplay must be bland people like the band ps wombats are shite, scouting 4 girls are shocking, just because you dont like Coldplay does not mean you like that shit. Krank up some Kings of Leon and take off your tank tops and little scarfs

The odd Coldplay tune I can tolerate.. I have tried so so hard to listen to one album from start to finish and have failed miserably..

Big Jamie

Apr 12, 2008

I really like Coldplay and I think there's too much crappy indie around but instead of complaining and whining about it, people should just listen to Tool, The Mars Volta, Sigur Ros or Between the Buried and Me. It get tiring with everyone just saying the same old crap about indie bands when they could easily just avoid them.

Apr 12, 2008

When are you clowns gonna stop arguing and realise different people have different tastes in music. Some people think coldplay are the bollocks and some people think they are bollocks. If you dont like them why are you even reading this. By the way I think they are brilliant.

cops are robbers

Apr 12, 2008

Boring, repetitive dirge-like derivative rubbish please inseet adjecitve here……... Coldplay is just an example of this. Hymns set to music, angst-ridden cries and a slow ponderous rhythm, the only thing missing is the name of their new album; Here’s one Chris: ‘The insomniacs almanac.’ Pure, white, square, middle class music for social class 1 professionals this is why they sell so well. Listen to some cutting edge music: Kings of Leon, MIA, Elbow, Interpol, Libertines and the list goes on

Soundedd

Apr 12, 2008

HaHa Coldplay shite, what a bunch of morons some of you are. Chris Martin is a musical god, your just pricks who probably like dog S*** like Ting Tings and all that dance indie shite, this is proper music, There is a reason Coldplay sell 10 million on one CD because they are one of the best in the world, wake up morons, this album will be as awsome as X&Y if not better.

RuiRuiRuiRui

Apr 12, 2008

I find it amusing that Cops Are Robbers considers Coldplay's songs 'hymns set to music', since hymns are, by their very definition, erm, set to music...

i_hate_underscores

Apr 13, 2008

Chris Martin is a disgrace to music, he committed a horific musical crime when he took the beautiful Simon and Garfunkel song 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and basically copied it to make 'Fix You', they have the same formula both musically and lyrically. It was a disgrace that that song got as much airplay as it did.Coldplay's first album was pretty good, but since then they've just turned into an up their own arse bland 'indie' band. They haven't ever tried to push musical boundaires. I don't expect anything different from this one.

mozafan

Apr 13, 2008

If coldplay were a food they'd be cardboard - bland, boring and get stuck in your throat!!

knackered_converse19

Apr 13, 2008

RuiRuiRuiRui, how can you say coldplay were original? Surely there's links to them only being an amped up version of Robbie Williams. When people say it's an original sound it's due to the industry pushing them every which way to make them big, then people jump on a band wagon of "loving the hot new band". It's the pop stations which allow these record sales to go through the roof, f*ck me, my nana likes Coldplay.... they must be amazing. One band who does it better and deserved more is Doves.

BlondieandBrummie

Apr 13, 2008

The media have killed Coldplay over the last few years...which makes them boring, dull and very over-played. Does it matter though?? No...because there are plenty of more interesting, inventive new-bands out there worth a listen - rather than regurgitated 'middle-of-the-road' crap.

mcbrie

Apr 14, 2008

some of you lot do churn out some shit, i'm looking forward to mozafan showing us what his usual diet is; cheese, sausages perhaps oh yeh and not forgetting that common food CARDBOARD. end of the day coldplay are a band for the more mature listener, readers of nme shouldnt be expected to like them - they're into bands such as 'my chemical romance' and 'foals' all of which are in fact boring turd. Just leave these kind of comment boards alone kids, get back to your little scenes.

brfczander

Apr 14, 2008

RuiRuiRuiRui, in no uncertain terms you are a wanker. First of all, Coldplay are the most boring band ever! They are just as bad as Mika and Scouting for girls. Secondly, how the fuck can you say britain is producing shit indie/rock music at the moment with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, The Last Shadow Puppets, The Cribs etc. think about that?

dreville

Apr 14, 2008

Since when have the Hoosiers and Scouting for girls been indie?!? And who in there right mind can call Chris Martin a god and the Ting Tings shite?!? Chris Martin is no more than a Bono impersonator, and Bono's a tool!

Apr 14, 2008

I have loved Coldplay ever since I heard their song "Yellow" back in grade seven. All of my friends made fun of me but I always said, "You just wait, they will be great someday." Coldplay have been getting better and better with every album and I am quite eager to see what this "Viva La Vida" has to offer. Maybe it will be total shit (UNLIKELY) but then every brilliant band has done a shit album.

I try to escape from the awful music of my country (Spain), and one of my favorite groups names the new album in Spanish. Bad luck!

Soundedd

Apr 14, 2008

To be honest, most of you on here are absolute f****** pricks, how dare you disrespect Coldplay. Kings Of Leon, Interpol - absolute garbage, Coldplay are pure genious, totally 100& original, wake up you bunch of idiots. Whilst there have been some quality new bands in 2007 such as The Enemy and The Pigeon Detectives all this dance shite fronted by wankers like the Ting Tings and Cajun Dance Party needs to be stopped, Coldplay 4 will be one of the biggest selling albums of the year no doubt, and the reason is because there world class, that and the new Oasis album are reasons why 2008 will be a class year in music, Kings Of Leon's new album isn't END OF.

its_rudimentary

Apr 14, 2008

Lets make this clear: just because you diss Coldplay does not mean that you're well into these rubbish hyped up bands like Cajan Dance Party or the Ting Tings it just means that you hate this music that defines the word mediocre. Since when has record sales indicated that the music is gd?? More often than not it just indicates that they are exactly that, medoicre ie. Mika, The Feeling, Robbie Williams all sold millions and thus must be geniuses by that logic. Soundedd just go and listen to U2 (with ure nan) and be quiet....please...ps. KOL is all about the 1st 2 albums M8

its_rudimentary

Apr 14, 2008

I must amend my comments because anyone who uses "END OF" in a sentence must be under 10 and therfore I understand why you like Coldplay completely....

dreville

Apr 14, 2008

Soundedd, firstly, calling people who don't like mediocre soft rock pricks is just sad, it's just our opinion. If you love the housewifes choice that's ok! Secondly, the Ting Tings and Cajun Dance Party are the closest this countrys sounded to its indie roots in a long time, how are either band dance music?!? Hardly feckin Underworld are they!

mozafan

Apr 14, 2008

In actual fact mcbrie I am in agreement about bands such as my chemical romance etc etc who i think are crap, and I am not an avid NME reader. I do have a rarther mature taste in music, and am a musician myself. I'd much rather listen to some Hendrix or Kinks to be honest mate. Coldplay just have no edge to them what so ever and bore the arse off me. So chill out mate

Soundedd

Apr 14, 2008

I don't like U2, why would I listen to them? I can't say I've heard KOL's first two albums, so I can't say whether I like them or not, howecer the album Because Of The Times is a musical disaster, awful songs, awful voice, horrible. Also to compare Coldplay to Robbie, shows you know nothing about music. Another stupid comment, Ting Ting's and Cajun Dance Party, close to Indie roots?, there about as far away the Indie roots as it gets, Leona Lewis is closer to Indie than that dance garbage. Indie music is about guitar, bands like Arctics and Hard-Fi and The Enemy is closest to the Indie roots. Whilst pop garbage like Mika and Westlife is always going to sell millions I think record sales does matter, after all why do people often refer Arctic Monkeys as the biggest band in the UK, because they have the most record sales probably, and a few people who don't like Coldplay doesn't make them crap, they sold something like 12 million on X&Y, for me that makes them world class, and finally just to annoy you, end of.

Soundedd

Apr 14, 2008

Don't post if you don't like Coldplay, simple

dreville

Apr 15, 2008

Soundedd you're barely worth arguing with but I can't resist it. NME is an indie paper, supporting indie music, always has been. Indie does not equal guitar. A band selling 12 Million records makes them world class does it? Then I suggest you go listen to Celine Dion and Garth Brooks as they must be world class. And saying end of neither ends a debate or annoys anyone, it just makes you look like a prick!

tito91

Apr 16, 2008

Coldplay are great, but X&Y is not good at all, I hope this new album will be great.

Soundedd

Apr 16, 2008

Indie to me, doesn't mean, bang the drums bang the drums ah ah ah, The Ting Tings, not for me, it means quality guitar bands like Hard-Fi and The Enemy. It just does my nut in when people slag of bands like Oasis and Coldplay, them two in perticular. No it doesn't make Celine world class, how did I know someone would use that argument against me haha damn you dreville

amisiti

Apr 22, 2008

i dont know why you are hating on coldplay and all of these other bands like radiohead(great),oasis(also good). but especially coldplay....if you dont like them then there is something wrong.....i think they are the most unique band out right now and i think that this next album "viva la vida" will prove that even more...come back and say that on june 16 when the album comes out
