Fans can listen to 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends' in full

Coldplay are set to stream their forthcoming new album 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends' in full on the band's MySpace page from 6pm (BST) tonight (June 6).

The album is not officially released until next Thursday (June 12), meaning that fans will be able to hear the album in its entirety almost a week early.

Head to the Coldplay MySpace page tonight at 6pm to hear the album in full.

The release is already the best-selling album presale in iTunes history, worldwide. It's also on track to beat the previous first-week iTunes album sales record, currently held by Jack Johnson's "Sleep Through the Static."

I'd rather listen to a turd playing the sitar....or then again is there much difference?

It's already leaked. And it sounds disappointing except Violet Hill and Viva la Vida...

Their album/apple commercial on tv last night was hilarious, they are U2! ...and must be stopped. Music for teachers/accountants. Pffft.

oh it's the attack of its_rudimentary again. I've said before, if you don't like Coldplay why comment? Your entitled to your opinion i agree, but if you hate a band so much why comment? Anyway, Coldplay's new album Judging from Violet Hill, this album will be epic. Already booked my tickets for December, and unlike a majority, i haven't started auctioning them on eBay for over 3 times the actual cost of the ticket. STOMP OUT THE TOUTS...i feel sorry for the fans missing out on tickets for these useless idiots. Touting should be illegal.

They should stick to being coldplay, and stop trying to be radiohead

A turd playing a the Sitar? wow, I really wasn't aware Pete Doherty had taken up the Sitar! Could be interesting.

It's always quite funny when you get posters condemning a band for their style of music. Not any single band at the moment can measure up to Coldplay IMO. Coldplay have so many timeless hits and judging by Viva La Vida and Violet Hill, their next album will be epic. Lost is also a stand out track on the album. The music scene needs bands like Coldplay, Muse and Oasis. That's the next step for bands such as Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys. Fair enough you may get your traditionalists who like a small intimate gig full of your loyal fans, but i bet these bands would jump at the chance of selling out a worldwide stadium tour. So please, don't criticise a band for being more successful than your average run of the mill indie bands.

Frida Kahlo? Jeez! Delusions of grandeur. Coldplay's music is on a par with Nick Rhodes's photography.

Airguitarsuperstar - What do you mean 'Already booked my tickets for December'.... you need to buy them already for big bands don't you. Otherwise they sell out in minutes mostly. Y'know what I mean.Have a good un'

I'll admit, Coldplay are my favourite band (although I don't really worship the ground they walk on, wouldn't que round the block for gig tickets, camp outside the Bakery, etc.). I've heard this record and I have to say...it's excellent. Parachutes and AROBTTH sound so naive in comparison, X&Y so bloated and unnecessary. Listen with an open mind (forget 'Fix You', Gwyneth, Chris's, often stupid, comments in interviews) and Viva... is more colourful, ambitious, exciting, expansive and intimate than anything they've done. It's not experimental in a Radiohead (who haven't pushed any boundaries since Kid A) way but it does have a markedly different sound to their other stuff. If you only check out one song, listen to '42'. It's crazy and Thom would kill for it.

Jun 7, 2008

who cares about coldplay??? they are a stadium rock band, not very interesting at all....their idea of "experimenting" is upping the pace to merely plodding and having slightly louder guitars...lets just leave them to q magazine and move on yes?

liking the sound of the album so far. clearly not attempting to sounds like Radiohead. Radiohead have been poor ever since OK Computer. Coldplay actually try to make music that has some melody and decent singing

All of you that say you hate Coldplay, on what reasonable grounds do you dislike them? Honestly, if you just dislike the music, that's cool. But to have a personal vendetta out on Coldplay simply because other people like their music is childish. I expect better from decent human beings. If disagree with how the album is being billed, piss on the journalists who've "over-rated" the album, not on the artist. The artist and record label are always going to over-rate the album, it's their job.To "hness," I'll tell you who cares about Coldplay, the 5.5 million+ people who bought the last album. Along with the countless people who downloaded it. Honestly, who cares about you, hness? It sure as hell isn't 5.5 million people, I'll tell you that.

ohsweetman

Jun 8, 2008

(when I say 5.5 million people, I am strictly speaking regarding the two biggest markets: U.S. and U.K. I'm sure the number of sales is somewhere in the 10-20 million range worldwide.)

oasis_dublin. that is the stupidest comment i have ever heard annyone say about anything. you are blatantly like a 12 year old, who heard that ok computer was really good and then listened to like one track on kid a and determined they were shit. Apart from maybe Hail to the Thief, radiohead's albums have been INCREDIBLE, coldplay can never make a radiohead album, they're ahead of the game by miles, radiohead were doing stuff on kid a that people are only understanding. go on metacritic.com and you'll realise that i'm not the only one who thinks that everything post ok is poor.

Dcajoe - With all due respect, how do you push the bar further than Kid A? less lyrics, more computers... ectra? RH did the right thing, making quality albums wether or not they top the last. I prefer HTTT to Kid A anyway (both have filled tho)I haven't heard all of VLV yet, just the 2 released singles but im sure this is the sound of a new mature Coldplay still being fresh and intresting. This and the Verve's new album are sure to be candidates for album of the year (and muse if they hurry up)

wellwoodpars fan has for me made the best point in a long time. There is so many indie bands out there at the moment, and I must admit to liking lots of these, but they'd jump at the chance to play sold out arena and stadium tours. People should lay of Coldplay there one of the best bands in the country at the moment and no doubt will follow up three great albums with another one on Thursday. Got my tickets for Brum on 1st December and am looking foward to Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. There nothing like Radiohead, to suggest they copy them is laughable.

Coldplay are Britain's favourite band to fall asleep to. True fact. It's about time they got an accolade they actually deserve. One of the most boring bands in the world.

numberonestrokesfan dont be such a twat. ive seen Radiohead in Dublin, Marlay Park 2006 (i must admit i got the ticket on the cheap but still paid to see them). everything. Coldplay are slightly better than Radiohead. All Coldplays albums are listenable, the same cannot be said about Radiohead. Radiohead's only truly great album was 'The Bends' FACT. In Rainbows is a pile of bollocks in comparison. Bands should stick to what they are good at. I hate bands trying to fucking reinvent themselves, it just doesn't work!
