Girls Aloud will support the band in London

Coldplay have added an extra London Wembley Stadium date to their forthcoming UK tour - with a very special support act.

Girls Aloud, a firm favourite of Coldplay singer Chris Martin, will also play on the newly announced September 18 date.

The gig will be the first of two shows the band play at the massive venue - they had already confirmed a show there, set to take place on September 19.

As previously reported, Jay-Z will support the band on all the other tour dates, including the second night at Wembley Stadium.

Coldplay will play:

Manchester Old Trafford Cricket Ground (September 12)
Glasgow Hampden Park (16)
London Wembley Stadium (18, 19)

Are Coldplay having diverse support acts to: A) pretened they're really cool & diverse, B) generate more revenue, or C) get kudos off readers of Q magazine? Discuss

Watching coldplay single handedly destroy ever ounce of credibilty they had has been one of the great musical comedies of the last decade. 'Girls Aloud support Coldplay': the final nail in the coffin. Enjoy "sell-out" hell Chris Martin.

Coldplay are brilliant. Jay Z is brilliant. Why the fuck did they have to ruin it with Girls a-fucking-loud?
