Jay-Z and Simon Pegg join Coldplay onstage at Wembley Stadium - video

Chris Martin also pays tribute to Michael Jackson during the gig

Jay-Z and comedian Simon Pegg both joined Coldplay onstage at the first of their two Wembley Stadium gigs in London last night (September 18).

The band played a 26-song set to a capacity crowd at the stadium, utilising a number of different stage areas as they did so. Earlier in the evening, White Lies, Girls Aloud and Jay-Z provided support, and Jay-Z went on to join Coldplay during their set when they played 'Lost+'.

Pegg, a long term friend and champion of the band, appeared onstage to play the harmonica part of early track 'Trouble'. Elsewhere in Coldplay's set, the band played an acoustic version of Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean', garnering an emphatic response from the audience. Watch video footage of the song – which also sees Pegg onstage – by scrolling down now.

Coldplay played:

'Life In Technicolor'
'Violet Hill'
'Clocks'
'In My Place'
'Yellow'
'Glass of Water'
'Cemeteries of London'

considering how many strong, well known songs this band have, that is one of the most appallingly written setlists i've ever seen. What a massive anti climax, you might as well leave about 6/7 songs from the end

i'm sorry 'indie writer' did you go? I went and the set list was absolutely fantastic. No anti climax at all, the crowd were loving every single second of it, and as for 'well known songs' their entire setlist was smothered with them. Simon pegg on the harmonica was genius. Thoroughly good gig!!

the thing with coldplay is they are without a doubt the most boring one dimensional act to have ever walked the earth.at work the other night i had the mis- fortune to listen to Absolute radio's live coverage of one of the wembly gigs, tedious dosen't even come close.as you've probably realised i'm not much of a fan but have always been curious as to the appeal, sad indie baladeers would be my description from the material i hear peddled on the radio, but i've always thought it must be live where they come alive, from what i heard the other night i was mistaken.i admit i'm a rocker at heart, the louder the guitars the better in my opinion but the simple fact is that coldplay have absolutely nothing to offer and how they've managed to become one of the worlds biggest acts is beyond me, there are a lot of gullible people out there!
