Coldplay are moving into the movie world - the band are co-financing new Ray Winstone film Ashes.

The film is described as a noir thriller and is being directed by Mat Whitecross, reports the Daily Record. He directed a number of Coldplay's videos including promos for 'Lovers In Japan' and 'Violet Hill'.

As well as financing the film band members Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion will serve as executive producers on the project. A release plan has not been confirmed yet.

Meanwhile, Coldplay are set to headline Glastonbury on the Saturday night (June 25) of the festival. They are also working on their fifth album.
