Coldplay's winter arena tour sold out within minutes after fans swamped ticket websites.

A spokesman for the band's tour company, X-Ray Touring, confirmed all shows had sold out "extremely quickly" after going on sale at 9.30am on Friday morning [September 23].

The band, who release their fifth album 'Xylo Myloto' on October 24, begin their small tour in Glasgow on December 3, before moving on to Manchester and London on December 4 and 9 respectively.

Many fans complained that the price of the tickets - £65 - was too high, while others weren't happy with the two-per-customer limit.

Fans are now likely to turn to other sources to try and secure tickets for the shows, with a number of tickets already available on auction sites such as eBay.

There are rumours more shows will be added to the tour in the coming weeks.
