Coldplay: 'Kanye West has changed the way we listen to music'
Chris Martin says the rapper has opened people's ears to other genres
Speaking to BBC Radio 1, the frontman said that he and his band were convinced that music buyers no longer felt confined by particular genres anymore.
The band feature a collaboration with Rihanna on their fifth studio album 'Mylo Xyloto', which is due for release a week on Monday (October 24) and the frontman said that the band felt unafraid to do this as people's attitudes towards music consumption have changed.
Don't you think that music now shouldn't fall into a particular box? I don't think anyone thinks like that any more. You don't see so many goths, hippies, rockers and hip hoppers any more. People like Kanye West are changing the way we all listen and the internet.
Look at Tinie Tempah. Just the song 'Pass Out' has about eight different types of music in it. This time, we're on our fifth record, we're all in our early to mid-30s so there's an element of, 'If we don't make it now we've got to give up.'

Rihanna is currently Number One in the UK singles chart with her new collaboration with Calvin Harris 'We Found Love'.
