Coldplay have claimed they were hypnotised during the making of their latest album 'Mylo Xyloto'.

Speaking at a press conference in Madrid yesterday (October 26), bassist Guy Berryman said that producer Brian Eno invited one of his hypnotist friends down to the sessions.

According to The Sun, Berryman explained:

Brian suggested we try playing together when we were hypnotised. One of his friends came down and we tried it out. Nothing came of it but at least we tried it.

Guitarist Johnny Buckland also paid tribute to the recently reunited Stone Roses at the conference, commenting: "It's fair to say that their first album was the reason I started playing a guitar. I can't wait to see the shows next year."

Meanwhile, earlier this week singer Chris Martin admitted that releasing 'Mylo Xyloto' made him feel "suicidal" after he feared a backlash from fans.

The album is on course to go straight to Number One this Sunday (30) after recording sales of more than 122,000 so far this week.
