CRAIG DAVID, COLDPLAY, DAVID GRAY, TOPLOADER, BADLY DRAWN BOY and RADIOHEAD are amongst the acts just nominated at this year's annual BRIT AWARDS.

Craig David has received the most amount of nominations at this year's awards, in the 'Best British Album', 'Best British Dance Act', 'Best British Male' and 'Best British Newcomer - R&B/Urban' categories.

Coldplay have been nominated for three, including the 'Best Album', 'Best British Group' and 'Best British Newcomer - Indie' award. They are up against Radiohead, Robbie Williams, Craig David and David Gray for the 'Best Album' award, while they face competition for 'Best Newcomer: Indie' from Toploader, Muse, Badly Drawn Boy and Death In Vegas - a group whose last album was released in 1999.

In the other nominations, PJ Harvey is to battle Dido, Jamelia, Sade and Sonique for 'Best Female Solo Artist'; Moloko, Fatboy Slim and Artful Dodger are amongst those nominated for 'Best British Dance Act' and Santana, Westlife, Savage Garden, U2 and The Corrs are all up for 'Best International Group'.

The Brit Awards ceremony will take place on February 26 at Earl's Court, London.
