Coldplay have shared a clip from a new song via Facebook.

The song has no title but was accompanied by the hashtags #AOAL and #AHFOD. The latter is presumably a reference to the band's new album, 'A Head Full Of Dreams'.

Coldplay recently appeared to confirm that a mysterious poster spotted on the London Underground, featuring a colourful 'flower of life' geometric pattern, is artwork for their new album.

Fans of the group took to social media to speculate that the advert, which also had the date December 4 below it, is for Coldplay's seventh album, citing a similar design on frontman Chris Martin's T-shirt at the recent Global Citizen Festival in New York.

'A Head Full Of Dreams' would be the follow up to 2014's 'Ghost Stories'.

Coldplay recently played new song 'Amazing Day' at Global Citizen Festival. See footage of that performance below.

Speaking about the new album previously, Chris Martin said: "It's our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it's like the last Harry Potter book or something like that. Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something… I have to think of it as the final thing we're doing. Otherwise we wouldn't put everything into it."
