And MIA's set is cut short after a stage invasion

Bjork closed the first Connect Festival in Scotland last night (September 2) with a stunning headline performance.

The singer delighted fans by playing a set full of hits as well as songs from her latest album, 'Volta', which was released earlier this year.

As was the case with her Glastonbury set earlier this year, the singer was joined by a massive 10-piece brass band from her home country of Iceland for the epic headline performance.

The Icelandic star finished with a thrilling performance of 'Declare Independence'.

Bjork introduced the track by saying: "This is a song you should all know well, come on people, declare independence."

Earlier MIA’s set was brought to an early finish. During 'Galang', the singer invited the crowd up onto the stage. But the plug was soon pulled as over a hundred people scaled the barrier in order to join her.

The sun finally came out on day three of Scotland's newest festival, which is situated in the stunning settings of Inveraray Castle.

The crowd were in fine spirits, even though the previous two days of the festival had seen torrential rain.

The day opened with a crowd-pleasing set from Patrick Wolf on the Main Stage. Other highlights yesterday were Seasick Steve, LCD Soundsystem and a thunderous headline slot from Hot Chip on the Manicure Noise stage.

That's not what Bjork said when she introduced Declare Independence. What's written above makes her sound quite arrogant. What she said was that the next song had lyrics that she'd expect the people of Scotland to identify with.

Nonsense - Bjork was rubbish...and LCD Soundsystem were the headliners. The rain wasn't 'torrential' - it was just that constant fine, fine rain that only falls on the West Coast of Scotalnd...think it's called Smirr...or Harr....or both...anyway it made Mogwai (best band of the weekend) almost spiritual. It was actually starting to do some proper rain on Sunday but then The Polyphonic Spree came on and made the sun come out again. Bjork damped our spirits till we caught The Twilight Sad and Idlewild to round off a brilliant weekend. Cheers Scotland - worth the trip from Leeds.
