DAMON'S STRANGE FRUITS

DAMON ALBARN (right, nearest camera, with Blur) has remixed and sings on a version of Cornelius' new single, 'Star Fruits Surf Rider'.

Damon's track will appear as a B-side of the original version of 'Star Fruits Surf Rider', which is released on October 19 on Matador. The track first appeared on Cornelius' acclaimed album 'Fantasma', which came out earlier this year.

A spokeswoman for Damon explained: "It's a personal thing that Damon wanted to do, as he really likes Cornelius. He did it for nothing and did it in his own time."

Cornelius' spokeswoman said that it was an act of "mutual respect" and that Cornelius was so pleased with the result he was keen to return the favour and remix something of Blur's, though nothing has been arranged as yet.

Damon also remixed the current Massive attack single 'Angel'. Blur are currently recording their new album in London, though there are no details yet as to when it will be released.
