CORNERSHOP'S 'CRAP' RELEASE

[a]Cornershop[/a] have announced they are to release two more singles before the end of the year

Cornershop are to release two more singles - before bowing out for the rest of the year. The singles will be limited-edition, vinyl-only releases aimed at the club market. They are 'Good Shit', which has been remixed by Jurassic 5, and 'Candyman' which has been reworked by Rob Swift from X-Men. The singles are due out in the next two months but dates have yet to be confirmed.

The band are denying rumours of an imminent split caused by problems in the group. The stories began circulating after Cornershop cancelled an appearance at a Norwegian Festival two weeks ago. Cornershop's Ben Ayers told NME: "We'll continue with Cornershop, but we're just going to take a break from live work for the time being." Frontman Tjinder Singh added: "We both like studio work and live work, but we've done so much live work now that it's getting a bit tiresome, and that's why we want to have a complete break."

The pair plan to concentrate on DJing both live and on radio in the coming months. Ayers said: "We're going to be doing some DJing at the Heavenly Social (at London's Turnmills) and a few other bits. We've done radio for GLR (Greater London Radio), we did some radio on Xfm before, so we've been offered quite a lot of radio slots." Singh has also recorded a vocal track for dance outfit Slacker, to be released later this year, and the pair have done a remix for XL Recordings artist Christopher Just. Release dates will be confirmed in the following weeks.
