CORNERSHOP NOT OPEN FOR V98 BUSINESS

Cornershop have pulled out of their V98 appearances this weekend - supposedly because frontman Tjinder Singh is suffering from nervous exhaustion.

No comment was forthcoming from the band's press office, as their record company, Wiiija, was closed for the day. However, a spokesperson from V98 site said the band would be replaced at such short notice. Cornershop were scheduled to play in the Dance Tent at 8.25pm on Saturday at Leeds and 8.10pm on Sunday at Chelmsford.

The band, who had their first No 1 with 'Brimful of Asha' in January, have been playing on the European festival circuit and appeared at T In The Park last month. In February, Singh damaged a Bristol hotel room after playing a gig in the city.

Meanwhile, the V98 spokesperson said festival-goers should bring waterproof clothing as rain is expected in both the north and south east of England over the weekend.
