Singer-songwriter makes US TV debut with late-night performance

Courtney Barnett made her US TV debut last night. Click above to watch her perform 'Avant Gardener' on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

The Australian singer-songwriter appeared on the late-night chat show as the musical guest last night (April 24). Other guests included Dr Phil and Dawsons Creek actor James Van Der Beek.

Barnett, who recently finished recording her debut album, will tour the UK next month. She starts her run of live shows in Newcastle at the Cluny 2 venue on May 6 before appearances in St Albans, Cambridge, Norwich, York, Hull, Sheffield, Birmingham and Leicester, winding up in Southampton on May 20.

Barnett and her band, The Courtney Barnetts, will also make appearances at Glastonbury, Field Day, Liverpool Sound City, Live At Leeds and The Great Escape as well as Primavera in Spain and Portugal.
