HOLE'S COURTNEY LOVE is considering a part playing a lesbian in new film, 'Julie Johnson', if US tabloid reports are to believed.

The film is based on an American play of the same name, and is the story of a women from New Jersey who leaves her husband for her childhood best friend, a woman. Love is considering the part of the wife's best friend, Claire.

Courtney next celluloid outing here will be in 'Man On The Moon'. The film, produced by REM's Michael Stipe, stars Courtney and Jim Carrey and tells the story of eccentric comedian Andy Kaufman.

It's released in UK cinemas on May 5.

Love's band Hole meanwhile are currently in a state of inactivity following the departure of bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur, who joined the Smashing Pumpkins in September of last year. The band are still seeking a replacement.

Love, along with guitarist Eric Erlandson are also embroiled in a legal action with the band's own label, Geffen, over breach of contract. Geffen are claiming undisclosed damages, and want to prevent the pair from recording under the name Hole for any other record label.
