Courtney Love praises our Beth Ditto cover

She compares The Gossip picture to PJ Harvey

Courtney Love has declared this week’s cover of NME featuring a naked Beth Ditto one of the magazine’s greatest covers ever.

Posting on her blog, Love compared the issue to our 1992 iconic shot of PJ Harvey, which was shot by legendary photographer Anton Corbjin.

She wrote: “I love naked Beth Ditto on the cover of the NME! genius! Best NME cover since PR Harvey in the chicken yard by Anton Corbjin.”

Meanwhile Love who NME.COM understands is set to make her live return tonight (June 1) at Los Angeles’ House Of Blues, has said she’s had to up smoking to hit the high notes.

Having recently discovered pre-op nodules in her throat, her doctor told her that, like Bob Dylan before ’Nashville Skyline’, the fags will have to go.

"He guessed exactly how much I smoke too and told me I'll have to get surgery," reports People.com.
