Courtney Love played a Paris Fashion Week gig with Babyshambles bassist Drew McConnell last night (October 6), after phoning NME earlier in the day to hook her up with the musician.

Watch video footage of the performance by scrolling down now.

Explaining that she needed a bassist at short notice, Love asked NME to recommend someone suitable for the gig, billed as the V Love New York party and held at the at the city's Printemps store.

After NME informed McConnell about the gig, the bassist then flew to Paris from Dublin yesterday afternoon, learning the bass for the performance from tabs while he was on the plane.

McConnell got to the venue with just minutes to spare, before going on to perform using a borrowed instrument in front of an audience including designer Karl Lagerfeld and actress Liv Tyler.

Among the songs played by the band, who were completed by Love's current Hole bandmates Micko Larkin and Stu Fisher, was a cover of Madonna's 'Like A Prayer', which you can watch fan footage of below.
