Courtney Love's debut 'Kurt-free' art show to open in New York

Courtney Love's first ever art show is set to open in New York next month.

And She's Not Even Pretty will open on May 3 at the Fred Torres Collaborations gallery and will feature a number of drawings by the Hole frontwoman. Speaking to the Huffington Post, Love said the exhibition is "really a Kurt-free zone" and added that instead of focusing on her marriage to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain "a lot of this collection is about one romance".

The show will feature a drawing of Love's friend Gwyneth Paltrow amongst the 45 pieces on display, which include a host of female nudes in pencil, pastels and watercolours. "I don't know when I'll do this again," she said of the exhibition. "[But] if this works with me, there are gonna be a whole lot of other ones."

Courtney Love reunited with the mid-'90s line-up of Hole for the first time in 15 years in New York earlier this month. The singer was beckoned onstage by bassist Melissa Auf der Maur at an after-party for Hit So Hard, a documentary about drummer Patty Schemel, at the city's Public Assembly venue. Love sang a version of Hole's 1994 single 'Miss World', before returning for an encore cover of legendary punk group the Wipers' 'Over The Edge'.
