Courtney Love had a few choice words for Lana Del Rey in light of the 'Summertime Sadness' singer's cover of Nirvana's 'Heart-Shaped Box', which she debuted last week in Sydney.

Writing on Twitter, in posts which have now been deleted, the Hole frontwoman said: "You do know the song is about my Vagina right? 'Throw down your umbilical noose so i can climb right back,' umm… On top of which some of the lyrics about my vagina I contributed. So umm next time you sing it, think about my vagina will you?"

Lana Del Rey performed the Nirvana classic during a show at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on July 26. Scroll down to watch the performance.

'Heart-Shaped Box' was the first single from Nirvana's third studio album 'In Utero'. Released in August 1993, it reached Number Five on the UK singles chart.

Del Rey has previously discussed the impact the song had on her when she was growing up. Speaking to a radio station at the end of last year, she said: "When I was 11, I saw Kurt Cobain singing 'Heart-Shaped Box' on MTV and it really stopped me dead in my tracks. I thought he was the most beautiful person I had ever seen. Even at a young age, I really related to his sadness."
