Courtney Love has posited her own theory as to what happened with the missing Malaysia Airlines jet, which disappeared without trace last week.

Love weighed in on the search for the missing flight MH370 when she posted an annotated screen grab of what she believes to be an oil slick and the remains of a plane, along with exact co-ordinates as to where investigators can find the wreckage. Despite saying she is "not an expert," Love posted the image on her Facebook page and added claimed the plane is, "like a mile away Pulau Perak".

The Malaysian Airlines jet disappeared with 239 passengers and crew on board less than one hour into its flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8. A huge search operation is currently underway in the Indian Ocean, with 26 countries involved.

Courtney Love is set to tour the UK later this year, having announced a series of live dates to take place in May.

Courtney Love will play:

London O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire (May 11/12)
Manchester Academy (13)
Glasgow O2 Academy (15)
Leeds O2 Academy (16)
Birmingham O2 Academy (18)
Bristol O2 Academy (19)
Nottingham Rock City (20)
